A Night for Orlando: a benefit screening of “Moulin Rouge”
The Austin International Drag Foundation is hosting a benefit screening of “Moulin Rouge” Wednesday Thursday night from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Blue Starlite Mini Urban Drive-In. Music from the Capital City Men’s Chorus with other guests will start at 7:30, followed by the screening at 8:30. Tickets are available online, and 60 percent of sales will go to the victims. Love Y’all: A Queercore Benefit for the Pulse Shooting Victims
Spider House is hosting a benefit Wednesday Thursday night hosted by the Austin Chronicle’s Kate X Messer. The event will showcase a shrine to mourn those lost in the shooting and music from DJ Rob Yazzie, Mom Jeans, Dead Sally, Pleasure Venom, Nameless Frames, and burlesque from Randi Roulette of BONER BIZARRE! They are willing to work with any artist or organization that wishes to get involved. The donations taken at the door and a portion of the bar sales will go to Equality Florida’s GoFundMe page.

Elysium’s Austin to Orlando Benefit
Elysium is raising money and selling raffle tickets on June 23. They’re asking for $5 at the door for entry, and $3 for each raffle ticket, with the chance to win prizes from local vendors. 100% of the proceeds go to the civil rights organization Equality Florida, and a link on their Facebook event page is connected to the Orlando victims’ GoFundMe, for those who can’t attend the event but still wish to contribute. A Peaceful Pulse at Cheer Up Charlies
Cheer Ups is hosting an all-day event this Saturday that will benefit the Equality Florida fund for victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting. Doors will open at 4 p.m., but the event will be preceded by an Equality Texas-led march from the Central Presbyterian Church on 8th Street to Cheer Ups. The event will feature an open mic forum, a mass kiss, a moment of silence to honor those lost in the shooting and a DJ set from GirlFriend to end the night. All drink sales will benefit Equality Texas and there will be multiple opportunities to donate to the Equality Florida fund throughout the day. July 1
Sidewinder is hosting a benefit concert downtown on July 1. The club is asking for $10 donations at the door, and all the funds will go to Equality Florida’s GoFundMe, which benefits the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting. The show starts at 8 p.m. and will include sets from Gold Steps and Mid Century, among others. There’s more information available on Sidewinder’s Facebook page, and, if you can’t make it to the event, you can donate to Equality Florida’s GoFundMe online.
