in austin, texas, a 50,000 square foot facility believed to be the largest bouldering gym in the world has opened its doors to the public after nearly two years of construction. the project’s architect was dylan johnson of DJA architects, while the interiors were completed by interior designer lilianne steckel. named the austin bouldering project, the indoor facility offers 23,000 square feet of climbing surface, with 250 different configurations set and rotated every seven weeks. in addition to bouldering, guests can use the fully equipped on-site gym, or take part in yoga or fitness classes. the upstairs includes a comfortable lounge and work space overlooking the activity below.
