Ian Moore & the Lossy Coils at Antone’s. How many people can say they were at the very first night of the original Antone’s nightclub at Sixth and Brazos streets, in 1975? Guitarist Ian Moore says he was, though it would still be more than a decade before he could legally hang out in bars. That didn’t stop a young Ian from sitting outside the front door and taking it all in, though. “I would listen to the music, and the waitresses would kindly bring me water from time to time,” he remembers. Eventually he became a regular performer at the storied Guadalupe Street Antone’s, and even after his career as a solo blues-rock songwriter took him to a new home in the Pacific Northwest, he continued to visit often, playing many times at the club’s subsequent Fifth and Lavaca location. He makes his debut at the new Antone’s, back open after a two-year absence, with his backing band the Lossy Coils. Expect the set to feature material from a series of soul singles he recently recorded with his former Austin bandmates George Reiff, Bukka Allen and JJ Johnson, as well as tunes from the forthcoming “Strange Days” EP produced in part by Austin’s Adrian Quesada. Los Coast opens. $17. 10 p.m. 305 E. Fifth St. antonesnightclub.com. — P.B.
